Sd.Kfz.182 PzKpfw VI Ausf. B mit Porsche türm

Here's my current project.

I'm participating in a groupbuild with it n' there's a lot of new experiences for me with this build as I've never before dealt with resin, friulmodell, metal exhaust pipes or turned barrel with brass/PE muzzlebrake. Everything is brushpainted except the dünkelgelb that's been sprayed on with Tamiya's TS-3 rattlecan. The paints used is Humbrol n' ModelMaster Enamel n' Tamiya Acrylics. I've also added Tamiya's engine to the build.

As you can see I made the mistake of painting the camouflage on the wrong side of the roadwheels n' had to repaint 'em. Bummer!

Thanks!

No, it's just my shaky hands that was acting bad when I took those pictures.

Great stuff McCoy, excellent work.

But I'm curious mate, you said just about everything is brush painted and you were also using a Rattle Can, do you own an Airbrush at all?

I own a Aztec TA4809G, and its a great airbrush to use. (love it)

If you don't have an airbrush, I can recommend that investing in one would be well worth it because, unlike the rattle cans you can spray a "pencil thin" line of paint if you want to.
(And you will save a fortune by not having to buy those crappy rattle cans.)

Cheers,
Dave

Thanks Dave!

Yes it's true that I don't own an airbrush n' I'd love to have one but for the time bein' I'm restricted to expensive n' crappy rattlecans. I use 'em for basecolours n' the brush the camo afterwards. I've tried an airbrush once n' it sure was fun.

Great job! I hadn't realized Tamiya made engines...are you leaving the engine compartment hatch loose, or planning on glueing it open? And the brush work looks mighty fine, friend. Nice! I love the tracks...what was you technique/colors used on them?
