Re: My ongoin' Panther Ausf. G Späte build

Mccoy firstly, great model it is definately coming along well and i am enjoying the step by step build photos. I am just wondering what paint you are using if you dont use an airbrush. It is very smooth and even for hand paining. It is fantatstic mate. Is the secret the brushes you are using. Again well done mate, i am looking forward to the weathering stage

I can ony echo LAH's comments about your finish McCoy. It's beautiful! I also note the excellent 'sit' on your tracks which are indy link if I remember correctly. I can't see a fault in them anywhere. For me, nothing ruins the look of a tank more than bad track work. For a Tamiya kit it's pretty good huh?

Re: My ongoin' Panther Ausf. G Späte build

I used a set for the first time on my Panzer IV. They were indeed a delight to use and made the tracks very easy. There are also plenty of spare links too.

Re: My ongoin' Panther Ausf. G Späte build

Yeah...two years back when I had some cash to splash, I stocked up a bit. I bought two sets of Panzer IV in different widths, Tiger 1 Late, Panther Late and Elefant tracks. The King Tiger is perhaps my least favourite German tank...dunno why exactly.

Re: My ongoin' Panther Ausf. G Späte build

I don't see that many except in my old mags and a couple of books. Having said that, there are two I've seen that are without a doubt two of the best armour models I've ever seen anywhere. One is by Swedish master Mirko Bayerl...perhaps you know that one LAH. I seem to remember we discussed it once before(?). The other has an entire interior all scratch built and it's teetering on the edge of a bridge while (strangely) a guy works on the engine with another guy looking on. (Why aren't they trying to get it back on the road? I ask).

Re: My ongoin' Panther Ausf. G Späte build

Been away for a day but here goes!

Thanks all!

The green is in fact Tamiya TS-2 Rattlecan. But the rest is mostly done with brushes n' the folowin' camouflage will be done with a brush.

The Model isn't a Tamiya but it's a Dragon.

The tracks is Dragon's Magic Track injectionmoulded in styrene. I see no use for Friul when you've got Magic Tracks suplied with the model as they're really great in my mind.

Oh yeah Nick, I've also seen the Tiger II broken down on the bridge n' it's a real beauty. Personally I like the Tiger II but I prefer the "Porsche" version as it looks more sleek to my mind. But a Tiger II have nothin' to come with when I compare 'em with the Panther, Tiger I or an early Pz. IV. They're much more interestin' to me.
