Re: 1/48 WWII German AFV Diorama

Yeah the brass shells are far superior looking compared to the resin/plastic ones.

AFV Club make brass shells in 1/35 scale as well and they are even more finely detailed than the 1/48 ones they make.

I also saw this "purpose built" PE bending tool that I think I will get.

ETCH MATE 3C #83682

Click here to see it in action : Mission Models!

It costs about $40-$50.USD (Price depends on which retailer you see.) but would be a handy addition to anyone who uses PE parts on their models.

Cheers,
Dave

No worries mate, you won't regret getting them.

I have examined the 1/35 AFV Club ones when my local hobby shop ordered them by accident instead of the 1/48 ones I wanted.
I picked them up without looking at the package properly and went home with them.
Only after I had gotten home and examined them more closely I realised the mistake and returned them the following week.

But it did give me the opportunity to have a very close examination of the 1/35 shells and I was astounded at their detail.
(I should have photographed them while I had them, oh well never mind.)

Cheers,
Dave
