Re: Airfix BBMF & WW2 Airfield Set
Cool! I guess, thinking on it a bit more, the clumping effect can probably work in your favor!

Dunno MAG. Just echoing what I've read about others using.

Re: Airfix BBMF & WW2 Airfield Set
That's ok Geek. I was thinking of the rock style kitty litter and wondering how to put it through a flour sifter. I haven't had a problem with the paint and flock method at all as long as the paint is on fairly thick. The other thing I saw in Sweden was the Sport stadium in Stockholm. They use dyed sand instead of grass and it looks great. That would stick to paint or PVA no worries.

Re: Airfix BBMF & WW2 Airfield Set
I used to have cats until I moved to my current place. We had two euthanased because of thyroid problems and old age...she basically stopped grooming herself and was around 18 years old. She was my cat for twelve years and I'm certain she had mental problems too. She was certainly epileptic and had two fits while I had her...my point is that I know several brands of kitty litter intimately. I know that the smaller particles gather in the bottom of the bag and that you can buy small quantities...say one or two kilos. I'd say the smaller 'rubble' would be suitable for a 1/72 scale dio. You can also paint it, apply washes and filters...the whole thing.

Re: Airfix BBMF & WW2 Airfield Set
I wonder if there isn't some kind of fish tank gravel that may be usable too?
