Airfix BBMF & WW2 Airfield Set

I thought I would start a thread on these two kits as I attempt to build them. If there is interest of course.

I made a start on both kits over the last couple of days. Firstly. I painted the pilots for the BBMF Spitfire and Hurricane. These are the first figures I have ever done and am quite pleased. Had to guess the colours though!!

I have also been working on the Mk1 Spit for the diorama and here is a picture with the supplied base.

That's all for now, more when I do it!

Nice job on the figure mate! I've not attempted one as of yet, myself. Yes, please post progress pics and a description! Wow, the base came with that? Fantastic!!! I love the Spitfire....I look forward to seeing this come together!

Wow Wolster...looks really good. The figure is great for so small a part and the revetement for the Spitfire is fantastic. It would seem that 'Airfix' have started to grow up a little. I'm really pleased about that because they do kits of some good (and sometimes obscure) stuff. Maybe their B-57 (a Canberra bomber in US service) is worth a closer look.
Keep the pics coming mate...looking good.

What are your plans for the base? You going to just paint it, or add texture as well?

I've seen some interesting scenery materials at the local Model railroading shop, but it's so darned expensive. But when faced with a base like yours, I might consider it just for simplicity sake. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Dunno what the availabilty of magazines is like for you Wolster, but I know the usual mags sometimes have articles about groundwork and such...maybe you should keep an eye out?
