Re: Panther Build

I know what you're getting at MAG. I like it for the same reason now that you point it out. Although it's tempting for a modeller such as myself to make a Panther G that didn't see much action due to its late introduction date look like it has been in the field for a decade.
LAH, this beauty isn't mine mate...it's Whiterook's.

Re: Panther Build

Thanks all...I appreciate the kind words. There were obviously a few pics in there not previously shown on the other thread.

That splotch on the turret side was a shocker for me, at the time. Basically, that side was the first decal I tried to apply...the first after three decades, and never anything that big, as I always did small aircraft and ships. The decal tore something terrible on me. I thought, "Hey, lets try a shell burst...powder burns thing!" Oh man did that fail big time! All good...repainted the area, and hand painted the numbers; worked out fine.

For my first AFV, it was an excellent shake n' bake model to build. Plenty of challenge to get back into the gig, but not maddening in complexity. I know it'll always be in my collection...as a good reference of where I worked up from, if nothing else!

Re: Panther Build

Golly, don't think twice about it my friend! Actually, someone so knowledgeable on armor, as yourself...I took it as a huge compliment! Glad you like the kit!

Re: Panther Build

Thanks Bob! Yeah, I am definitely hooked on armor. A very cool subject to build. I can't wait to try out some airbrushing techniques, as well...which armor so well suits.
