Re: Revell B-24 Liberator.

The figures look to be taken from the old Monogram B-24J kit and their B-26 kit. Both molds are from the 70's but they don't look too bad. Shep did a good job with them....

Re: Revell B-24 Liberator.

I think I've seen Shep's efforts with them. I have an old FSM special that featured many of the 'Monogram Dioramas' Shep did. For their time, they were awesome. Shep's never been my favourite but he certainly broke a lot of ground. I guess the only reason for it is that I was never exposed to Shep's work as a kid. We had the Verlinden centre pages of Tamiya cataogues when we were young. I can remember being totally blown away by an 1/32 F-14 Tomcat built by Verlinden.

Re: Revell B-24 Liberator.

you're right, the figures don't look all that. if they don't look good once painted, i'll get some 1:48 figures. i know verlinden does some and preiser as well.

Is that one of Revell's old 'Historical' kits JJ? i.e. an old Matchbox kit?

no it's not. it's a new tooling and made in china and not germany. the ones made in germany had thick sprues and lots of flash. the chinese ones are different. looking at them, they are better and thinner.

All right dab nabit! I'm home and now I've finally set up my shop again so I'll be starting that J version. I've really been itching to start this one.

Re: Revell B-24 Liberator.

Looks like a pretty good kit Freight. If I see that one, I'll pick it up for sure. Good luck.
Peace.

Me too. It's my favourite four-engined bomber along with the early, square-tailed Halifax.
Peace.

Re: Revell B-24 Liberator.

There's not a lot of pieces so it will mainly be filling, sanding, and painting. I'm doing it up as an assembly aircraft. When I'm done it will look like a big loaf of 'Wonder Bread'.
