Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

British turn 4.

Quick turn here.

Artillery phase. Smoke and a barrage on the same spot in front of the ridge. Excellent shooting by the 25lbers results in one section lost and one suppressed. Even the Panzer II is suppressed. The smoke will affect any unit firing from it including the Panzer III.

The 5.5" guns landed their shells on and around - surprise surprise - the 88 position. An infantry section was unfortunate to be under this as it was a concentration mission (smaller area hit but higher chance of getting anything in the smaller area). The section was wiped out. The 88 didn't get a scratch - but the Sdkfz 7 did. It was destroyed. The gun crew who weren't having a great day to start with managed to bail out and are sitting disordered near the gun.

The mortar crew landed a good shot of smoke in front of the infantry on the left flank of the ridge - they are decidedly uneasy.

End of artillery.

British movement. Well this included nearly everything that could move. In fact it is easier to say the only things that didn't were the mortar and the Valentine which has at least managed to reorder.

One other thing the Germans notice - a dust cloud behind the wadi heading down the left of the table - can't quite see what it is yet - a truck ? Maybe something else.

We are getting close to a decision now as the British make their play (must be high noon pardners).

It is now the German Defensive fire phase which means everything they can I would assume.

Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

German Defensive Fire Phase.

The decision sent to me was brief and decisive - something about letting some dogs out for a run and fire at everything possible.

Here we go - Panzer III and IV at the Valentine - suppressed again ! but still alive.

Panzer II and two sections at the closest infantry unit - the luck stays with the german infantry - one more British section eliminated.

The sections to the right fire at longer range with no effect.

The Hannomag fires it's HMG at long range and disorders one section on the right flank. Good shooting.

The section on the left of the ridge fires out of the smoke - no smoke would have been a kill - the minus means a disorder to one more British section.

The German infantry are on target for the most part and doing well.

here endeth the defensive fire.

It is now the German turn - artillery - strafing - offensive fire - movement if any.
