Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

Nice to have you back Bob. As Whiterook says, things are heating up nicely so the next couple of turns should get more interesting.

INFO.

Artillery.

Spotting. A spotter such as a recce unit or dedicated spotter can see further than anyone else. When a unit is visible to them it can be targetted by artillery. A company commander can also be used if close enough.

Infantry can be really hard to spot until you are close - sometimes 2 - 5 inches.

Most other stuff is fairly easy to find.

Spotting possibility goes up when a target moves. When a target fires it may not be fully visible but can become a suspected target with a 10% lower hit chance.

Smoke. This can be called in by a spotter and you only have to specify where - eg in front of a certain vehicle.

Mortars fire smoke direct so they don't need to be called in. Just specify where the smoke lands.

Smoke can be stoked up again by artillery without calling it in. The smoke is placed on the same area at full strength for two more turns.

Smoke lasts from the firing turn for two more turns. Smoke cuts firing by 20% on the first turn and 10% on the second.

If a unit fires through two lots of smoke it loses another 10 or more % as well.

Reinforcements. Both sides have the possibility of more coming. The roll is done by me for this one and at the beginning of the turn. I must roll the turn number or less for it to happen in the British case. So it could be available in turn one (it wasn't) or may not get there until turn ten.

The German case is a call in similar to artillery. This is done once every three moves and is cumulative. If it doesn't turn up in turn three we roll in turn four etc.

I have had some info for the British turn three - looks very good so far and pretty well ready to roll. I hope the German team is ready for it (the 88 crew just had a nasty message from the Panzer IV - I can't repeat it here but I didn't realise little plastic models knew words like that).

Also, the German infantry are not happy with the Dingo - sneaking down the flank like that and then having the nerve to fire at them as well !!

Wink Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

Thank you sir, I am writing orders for you now, not what the other tea drinkers expect in some cases, but the chat time has run out for me, time to see what the Germans are really made of, and their commanders!!

Cheers

Magna...how many times can smoke be fired in a game...I thought you said at some point, 2 fire missions in a game, smoke lasting for two turns.

Apparently our gunner couldn't hit a "Bull in the a** with a banjo".

Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

Ok. Lots of questions here.

Whiterook - Each artillery / mortar unit can fire smoke twice per game. Smoke lasts for two turns.

Lufttiger - The V1's went down with the Bismark - sorry.

Hagen - Lucky the 88 isn't equipped to fire banjo's then.

Oh - Whiterook - the Sdkfz 7's windscreen is ok. The 88 is only firing plastic shells.

There, I think that covers everything - Dreaded British artillery strike coming up today.
