Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

All right folks.

British Defensive Fire Phase.

The six pounder and the Valentine both fire at the Panzer IV - with no effect but getting very close.

The infantry are having some long range shots at German troops but they are still a bit too far too do real damage.

That is the end of the turn.

So far the German defenders have done pretty well. Their luck has turned a bit this time and they have caused some casualties among the British - one tank and one platoon on infantry gone for a Burton.

It is now the start of the next turn. This is the British artillery and mortar phase. As they now have some juicy targets the whole thing could turn again - you never know do you ?

I haven't taken a pic - sorry. The only thing different from the last pic is that there are german troops in the rocks at the front of the ridge - basically from one end of the rocks to the other.

Anyway, well done by all again and the British advance still looks very menacing.

Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

Whoops! Forgot the Panzer IV is on overwatch.

I have made an assumption here that the best shot is at the Valentine. A good shot but no better result. The Valentine remains suppressed.

Now it is the British artillery and mortar phase.

Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

No rush. I forgot to tell you all that you can have a better look at the Battlefront rules if you visit - fireandfury.com - there is an faq there if I remember rightly.

Also - the standard rules - movement - firing ranges and so on are written for 15mm although we use 1/72nd scale stuff. If you have any mini's such as Flames of War or A&A they fit perfectly with the rule set so it's just a matter of getting the rules and whatever cards you want and you already have the correct mini's to go with them. That was another reason we ended up using them. We had all the gear and they fitted what we had.

You can also scale up the game by adding 50% to movement and ranges (eg the Crusader would then be able to move 15" off road in one go). This is good for some games as it gets things to a head quicker. The variations are excellent.

Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

Ooooo, nice Mag...thanks...I'll check out the site. I think these rules and game system will add nicely to my AA Minis collection. Always nice to have alternate game rules for pieces one already has (keeps the marriage at a better shot of maintaining accord, as well, heee heeeeee).

Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

That's why I thought I would mention it. It then lets you play at different tactical levels with basically the same equipment.

You can tell her indoors that this equates to a large saving in monetary terms coupled with a lower stress level for miniature accommodation within the confines of the shared marital bliss domicile. I wonder if I could charge money for coming up with this rubbish......
