Wink Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

MAGNA

Thanks again for the info, there may be another player interested here, PanzerBob I beleave

So, it's up to you to decide if and where he should go as to what side, if you would. Just when I thought I had a plan, I find a new one to think about after the latest intel, thanks, looking forward to some burning German armour to "brew up" our tea when the British take their victory break!!!

Cheers, good luck Africa Core, you'lle need it!! Ha Ha!!

Now, if there happens to be one more player out there, we could have a three on three, each one could run one section each, A, B, and C!!!

Thoughts or volunteers maybe.... ?

The British TRDG

Tommy!!

Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

PanzerBob can join in with whoever he likes if he wants too.

Just get those PM's coming with final deployment / initial orders and we are away.

Remember the left side of the map is the wadi so that side is the left flank for everybody.

Ok. So lets get it along now so I can tell you where you went wrong (ah, the omniescence of umpiring...).

Red face Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

Sorry, one more, arty in the game, both sides, how effective is it towards armour, infrantry, soft skinned vehicles, as in causeing damage/kills....

Infrantry in the open, I get that, but dug in how much "better" As for tanks, a very hard kill at all times except the random perfect hit??

Cheers, It's coming together, maybe before Tuesday now!!

Tom

P.S.

Range of guns........

Effective fire is about ?? for various units in the game?? From our two deployment areas, they can fire with some effect at all, or HAVE TO move much closer for effective fire on ANYTHING.....??

Thanks

Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

Artillery - very good against soft targets. Improved positions don't help a lot either. Dug in or heavy cover does (ruins etc.). Against armour - not good at all. Can kill light tanks and halftracks. Medium to heavy tanks - can be suppressed or disordered - possibility of a kill if already disordered.

DISORDERING is almost as good as a kill. It reduces firepower of the disordered unit by 30%. Unit must reorder to get full firepower or move. A disordered unit with a bad movement roll may head for home. Keep your commanders close as they add 10% to the movement rolls. Overall commanders (figures for you guys in small vehicles) add one more.

Here's how it works.
An infantry unit has 25% losses. Two of it's sections (squads) are disordered. One is suppressed.

Movement roll and effect examples.

ROLL ADDS MINUS TOTAL EFFECT
4 Co commander +1 Disordered -3 2 Reorder + 1 action
Suppressed -1 4 Reorder + 1 action
OK 5 Two actions

1 Co commander +1 Disordered -3 -1 Panic for 2 actions
Suppressed -1 1 No reorder or action
OK 2 1 action

50% losses would be minus 2. Enemy units within 5" -1. There are modifiers according to unit type - eg veterans do better for this and for firing. In this game all units will be normal status.

Ranges. Can come down to spotting. Infantry can be in range but you may not be able to see them.

Infantry can usually fire out to 10". Heavy weapons (mg) up to 20". Mortars 15" unless medium to large - 60".

Note - most infantry weapons are not much good until you get within 5". 2" or less is even better. Close assault range is 1" or less. A close assault if you have superiority is capable of taking out any other unit.

Effective fire for onboard artillery and tanks is better the closer you get. Usually anything above 20" is not much of a chance.

Re: Miniatures - You play - I do the work

What did I get myseld into! Just kidding...good stuff!!! This is the type of miniature gaming I've been wondering what it'd be like to play live in person to person play...online is quite a bit harder, though it's nice to have time to plot and plan. I have suggestions in to myy partner...we'll see if he thinks I'm a bloddy raving loon or not!
