Russian Defensive Fire.

Four tanks open up on the Panther in the lower light woods. Distance is a problem here as well as smoke from burning vehicles. No luck this time.

The sub machine gun infantry and T34/85 at the top woods pour fire into the entrenched Germans. Some very good fire results in one suppression and one disorder - not what the Germans wanted when close combat is imminent.

A mixed bag but is a flank in danger ? Are both flanks in danger ?

It is now the end of turn 4.

The Russian turn is next. Artillery and so on...

Hmmm, a Battle Royale! Nice holdout by the Panther, though!

The Panther is doing all right so far isn't it ? A couple of tanks closer by the Russians and the story can change very quickly though.

Notice how the infantry add the necessary weight in close to take obstacles too. The forward tank losses are predictable but as infantry comes up the situation may change. Too many targets and not enough to get them all at once.

We will find out when Tom sends me his orders.
