Re: Next battlefront game

Sorry for the delay gentlemen. Here is your map. Note the Heavy Woods (two areas). These are also full of thorns, blackberries, whatever you like. In other words not practical to move through at all. They also inhibit viewing as you cant see through them or more than about an inch into them.

The light woods are much better as they can be moved through and can be used to conceal troops and vehicles. Units concealed must be close the edge to see out though and can be seen once another unit gets close enough or when the concealed unit fires.

The town at the back is a bit of a ruin but is the start of the only good road around this area, so it is vital to both sides. There are some undulations in the ground but the available maps don't show these. Other buildings etc may be there as the map is a bit old.

Cool Re: Next battlefront game

I love the map Dave, VERY NICE and worth the wait I say.

Now I see where I can come in from that side, next up, is my force complete yet, you metioned adding some more forces, but I was'nt quite sure if you meant the Germans or me....

I see the russians are attacking so I will get the first turn, works very well for me by the way!!

Cheers, when you have a quick moment, I would like to know the victory conditions, number of turns and the stats for the vehicles that I will run, and some of the German AFV that I can maybe see, when I first deploy. Say you want to start this game up by....??

Thanks again, this will be a good one me thinks buddy!!

Commander Zhukov (ya, I just had to go with that name, can someone pass me the Vodka please!!)

Re: Next battlefront game

OK. Twelve turns for this one.

Objectives. Russian units to clear and hold the town by then for a victory. If it is in dispute (including flanks) then it will be a draw. That will be up to me to work out. If the Germans hold the line of the heavy woods at the end it is a major victory to them. If the Russians take the town by move ten it is a major victory to them.

Units lost will count as well. If there are enough units left to match an enemy around half the size of what has already been faced then you are regarded as being of reasonable strength. If you have lost 3/4 of your units and still take the objective it will probably be a draw. Hope you all get what I mean here.

All units will be PM'ed in the next day or two.

Re: Next battlefront game

Deployment for the Germans is mainly going to start off hidden in this one. You will need to send me the units and positions then I can set them up and maybe send you an email if you have another account I can send a pic to.

The Soviets will come onto the map as per TRDG's commands to try to find your lot and wallop them.

The German side has the option of falling further back into cover after firing so the Russians have to go in to find them. This is frustrating for an attacker as each time you find the enemy again they get an ambush shot at you. Hmm.... maybe I should put trees across the middle of the board - could be fun for me at least....
