Re: Next battlefront game

Right then. Hopefully I have all this right as per orders.

German command. It has come to your forward troops attention that there is a slight problem coming your way in the form of a Soviet horde.

They have advanced to the first line of light woods and show no fear at all. Their recce vehicle is heading out in front of eight tank units and what looks to be at least two companies of infantry in support.

It is now the German defensive fire phase which I will do as it is so obvious.

Russians - did you know Grenadiers spell 'hello' differently to everyone else ?
It goes like this...

P A N Z E R S C H R E C K

Ahh... the Teutonic sense of humour.

Bam! The lead T34/85 is suppressed. In the centre the german troops fire at the SU-85 - also a suppression. It seems these Russians don't appreciate the Teutonic humour.

It is now the German Artillery phase followed by German offensive fire and movement.

Hope this is right according to everyone but it's hard to fit hordes on sometimes.

Thumbs up Re: Next battlefront game

Looks pretty good to me Dave!!! A very nice table and the deployment looks good from the "Zhukov" side.

One question when you have time after all the German misses there, Ha Ha !!

Could you list all of the German units I can see as of right now please? Not quite sure what some of them are.

Cheers

Co Z

Re: Next battlefront game

You can see two sections of very humorous Panzer grenadiers. Tough boys these and they may have friends.

Arrow Re: Next battlefront game

Remember though, Emmery is MIA after Monday night, so you will be on your own with me (Ha Ha) until next week.

I do plan to go fairly fast here by the way......

Co Zhukov

If you have any 'problems" let me know (in general), I plan on keeping Dave, and thus you both jumpin' about more than a bit, compared to the first game.

I can tell Tom, leading off with your armor like that, pretty bold move. And by the way, if your troopers have umbrella's they best open them up now, as it's about to start raining.

Re: Next battlefront game

If you want to make this kind of terrain which is stored in itself and transportable check my thread in the hints and tips section in modelling. It leaves the table free when you finish a game and has cost me about $30 to this stage. Still experimenting with it but it would be good for those with 15mm stuff too.

Now, after that word from our sponsors, the German artillery.

The Russian tanks in the centre quickly pop their umbrellas up as shells come raining in. No real damage except the Sherman is suppressed.

The two German sections fire their schrecks again without further damage. Very lucky for the Russians so far. Still, things can change.

It is now the German movement phase followed by Russian defensive fire.

Talking Re: Next battlefront game

Zhukovs DF is PMed to Magna, as well as my rolls, and I used my PACKER CARDS ( the ones I got when they won the SB that year to!!!) just for something a bit different.

Cheers

Commander Zhukov

Re: Next battlefront game

Russian defensive fire phase as I assume the German units are staying put.

The three tanks / TD's and the recce unit in the middle have shots at the German section which is dug in.

Sherman - section suppressed - SU-85 - section disordered - this looking bad.....
SU-100 - zing... no go - Recce unit - ratatat and all that - no go.

Centre section disordered.

Top - section fired at by the T34/85 - Bam section disordered.

Both German sections are disordered and amazingly both have survived.

Unfortunately for them it is now the Russian move starting with artillery then offensive fire followed by movement.

I really didn't think the one in the middle had a chance but there you go.

Your turn Russians but you might want to straighten your barrels first.
