Hobby stores, not really sure why but probably because I know the owners and all, and game with a couple of them from time to time.
Cheers, I do pre-order stuff, but again from the hobby store who contacts the business who is coming out with the item, be it FoW or a regular model. Tom |

![]() There's a lot to be said for supporting your local business! You may not always get the best deal out there, but it can be a win-win if you like the store and the folks that run it. A lot of the hobby stores around me are very impersonal, and clearly out to make a buck...so I save those hard-earned bucks for on-line shopping; but one of the stores is amazing in their friendly attitude and love of the gamer community, so they see a lot of my business.

Re: Where do you buy your gear?
I go to my local hobby shop when they have what I need. But sometimes, they don't have what I'm looking for, then I have to look online. Our local game store can order some things, but they sometimes take longer than if I order it myself.

My thoughts exactly Whiterook, what the store can and can't order from specific venders can be a problem, but they usually try to find a way, but as 50th said, it can take more time. But the extra savings ZI can usualy get from the owners offsets this to an extent.

Re: Where do you buy your gear?
I dont have a local store so im totally an online shopper. I buy all my games from Funagaingames.com. They have great prices and alot of eclusives you'll only find there. Plus you earn "points" there for each dollar spent. Spend enough and get "X" amount off of your next purchace.

Re: Where do you buy your gear?
Online is such a great option...and I agree that EBay can be an amazing avenue. On the latter, my brother had a chess set that he borrowed for a time from a friend of his...this was back in the 70's. Man, I loved the look of that set, and I spent many years looking for it, with no luck. One day at work back about 10 years ago, a buddy was telling me how he buys most of his guitars on EBay (and he has a LOT of them!)...well, on a whim, I type in chess sets, and a huge selection comes up...I narrow the search to key wording of "Gothic" that pin pointed the very set! A design of Peter Ganine.
Ganine1.jpg Ganine2.jpg So from that moment on, from a gaming staandpoint, I've been a big believer in EBay! I have bought numerous games form the online auction source, and I'm sure there will be more. By the way, I ordered the Ganine full figure version too....hopeless!
