How many folks have family game nights on the weekends still?

So, I was wondering how many folks out there have family game nights on the weekends still? Weekends, specifically Saturday night and/or Sunday afternoons were the big weekend times for the family to get together at the kitchen table and slog the dice. In our fast-pace world, I wonder how many still enjoy this great family past time?

Well, I for one do.....I find it a great way to get connected with the family, and disconnected from life's distractions and hub-bub. Cell phones are NOT invited!

That's great WR! We used to when we were younger. We used to play board and card games. I think it made us closer as a family. I am alone, I play whenever I have someone to play a game with. I invited some friends over tonight to play, but they are "no show". So, its video games tonight!

That's a bummer 50th. I am no stranger to "no shows"...hate when that happens. I had a Game Group night that went horribly wrong with member after member bailing just hours before our start time...this was last Fall. Wondered if I pissed them off or something Just turned out to be a bad night for all, to get out and hit my basement. Just goes that way sometime.

Can't say we have a regular 'game' evening, more like when there's not much else to do, but we do play cards and board games a good couple of times a month. The kids usually moan a bit at first but end up not wanting it to end.

Hee heeeee, I hear 'ya! Funny how kids think the stuff we adults like to do is boring, until they sit down and discover we may actually know what is fun! Hey, a couple times a month is pretty darned good! Excellent!!!!

And good to see you here in the Game Forum mate...Welcome aboard!

The wife and I play cards once in a while, cribbage mainly. If only I could get her to sit down to a game of PanzerBlitz!

HAHAHA! I feel your pain. I actually got my wife to try Memoir '44 not too long ago....she made it a quarter way through my explaination of the rules before the eyebrows started to knit, forehead wrinkled, and her eyes glazed over. Never did play the game....I took pity on the poor woman and let her escape to the safety of QVC!

Hey, you gave me an idea, though....I wonder if I could get my wife to play Strip Cribbage?

Give it a shot.

Is cribbage popular in your neck of the woods?
