I didn't see any, but then again I'm not familiar with that game. There was a lot of war machines played, a tournament, I think. I saw new board games, but didn't play any. Here is a pic of one game I saw, but didn't play.

Here is my Star Trek game that I ran at the con. The mini's are micro-machines on bases I bought.

Wow, thanks for sharing that 50th!!! Sounds like you had a great time at the con, my friend!

I hadn't seen the Bastogne Corridor scenario at Days of Wonder's Scenarios for the Front database...do you still have a copy of it, hint hint???

And on the GI Rules game, what system is that? Think you might want to do either a quick Game Review of it in the Community Game Reviews sub-forum, and/or an AAR on that (and any) game in the After Action Report sub-forum?? (I know, I'm putting you to work )

I played the British and the Americans, but it has been about three or four years since I played last, so I lost. The guy on the right played Germany, and he won hands down.
That's the first time I've seen the new Axis & Allies game set up...looks cool! Is the board slightly smaller than the old one? It looks very well done, graphics and components-wise.

Oh my gosh...that Star Trek game looks awesome!!! I've often wondered about the space-fare games. Please consider a review of the game in the Community Reviews sub-forum. I'd love to learn more about the system, and how it is played!

I love Micro-Machines! I have a full set of Babylon 5 figs, and they are top-notch!

Also, consider a separate thread sometimes, on what it's like to host a game at a con. It sounds interesting, and I haven't a clue how hard, or easy, the experience is. Perhaps through your example, a few of us other Gamers may consider following suit someday! Kudos!

That new A&A board looks much smaller than the old one. Is Italy and North Afrika gone?

The trifold board looks kinda unweildy, too. I hate when a board's creases are mini moats!

Space Fare (and most Science fiction games) are alot of fun because since they are not based on history, game play balance is easy to achieve.

Re: Have you vere attended a Gaming Convention?

Italy and North Africa were on the new Axis and Allies board. It was smaller because they did away with the boxes across the top that detailed areas for big battles. Whitrook, if you send me your email address I will email a scanned copy of that scenario. The rules set I used for the Star Trek game are the old FASA Star Trek Starship Combat Simulator game. My friend and I kinda shortened them so that we would not overwhelm new players with a lot of phases. The game has three sensor phases, three movement phases, three firing phases, and three repair phases. We did away with sensor and repair phases and shortened the tactical advantage phase at the beginning of each turn. My friend also did away with a lot of detail on the ship sheets, we do not use rules like casualties, the banked weapon damage table, cloaking, Plasma weapons, turn damage, or evasive maneuvers when playing at cons. This can be a complicated game, though not as complicated as Star Fleet Battles, and we don't want to overwhelm new players. We also put out numbered counters to represent wormholes. If you go in one, roll the dice, and see which one you come out of.
The three ships in this picture were trying to get away from each other, they all went into a wormhole, and all three rolled the same number! Surprise!!

Whiterook, I just found the Bastogne Corridor scenario. It's in the official scenarios section under overlord, and they have changed the name to Bastogne. Check it out!
