Check up with Whiterook. He can give you lots of info on these. The new stuff is 15mm so it can be used with other rules.

Just a thought on this too. If you ever want to go to a more comprehensive game all you need to do is get the Battlefront rules by Fire and Fury. They are set up for 15mm or 20mm scales and have a card for each type of unit. The card shows movement, armour if applicable, and firing chance at different ranges against the common types. There are modifiers on movement and firing. The best thing is if you already have A & A minis they are perfect for this rule set. It then becomes a case of having two games in one (think cost, storage, setup....)

Thanks Magna...I took a peek at their website, and you have my curiosity up! This is the website, for those interested:

Fire and Fury Games' Battlefront:WWII Miniature Wargame Rules Home Page

Not a huge investment money-wise, and I like the idea of having a whole different way to play Axis & Allies Miniatures. I'll most likely break down and pick up the Basic Rules Set (looks like it'll cost under $40 with shipping), but it'll be awhile...money's a little tight at present, and I've sunk a fair investment into a bunch of Panzer Grenadier games over this Winter.

Re: Axis and Allies miniatures

No worries. You will like the system as it is actually simple enough to be on two sides of an A4 page with details in the manual if necessary. It can be frustratingly real - sometimes you just can't blow stuff up.

The cards are the heart of the thing and make the gameplay a lot easier. No charts and the like.
