Re: What's the most expensive NEW game you've ever bought?
I'm actually new to the Avalanche Press game system myself...read the rules through once, and then got sidetracked with two Online games here in the Game Den....been boneing up on Advanced Squad Leader of late. So, haven't played Beyond Normandy yet...and Airborne is an excellent way to go my friend! It's small, but that's perfect to get you started. I've heard nothing but good about it, and the system in general.
When you do start to buy them, the Gold Club really does help...which you can combine with their Seasonal Specials (which change fairly often)...wait for the magic combination of the titles you want, and you can save a ton of money. They also have a Buy 2, Get 3rd free...which can be combined (as can the specials) with Gold Club discounts. Crunch the numbers though.....I was a bit anal that way, and came out with amazing savings.
There are several Stand Alones...but a lot of the games require you to have other games to play some or all of the scenaros in the game. I actually have a Word spreadsheet on what need what, that I put together, to aid me in my buying startegy...PM me if you want a copy emailed to you.
I have Elsenborn Ridge on order...it's been "Coming soon" for awhile now. Guess they had troubles with the printer they were going with for awhile, but things seem to be rectifying now. I actually own almost their entire Panzer Grenadier series.
