Actually, each game is a little different in certain ways. AA Europe and Pacific are probably the most like the original Axis & Allies, just not global wide, but rather Front-based. Attack/Defense is a bit different in some, though I'd have to dig the games out to verify just how...a fun project that I will do at some point. The most noticable example would be A&A Miniatures...a vast departure from the others.
As far as units, the units are fairly similar, with the exception of Miniatures obviously. Battle of the Bulge, for instance, introduces transportation for the Allies in the form of Deuce and a Halfs. D-Day has some cool Bombers and Fighters, as well as neat Artillery. In truth, I haven't even openned Pacific or Guadalcanal yet, and the former I've owned for a few years now!
