Your Theater of Choice?

So, of the European versus Pacific Theater...which of these theaters of World War II do you prefer playing?

Wink Re: Your Theater of Choice?

The first selection, no surprise there, I just don't get into the Pacific that much, not really to much armour!! But the ships, planes and beach assaults/landings can be cool though to!!

Cheers

Tom

Re: Your Theater of Choice?

I like both, but that said, I game European more. The bulk of my games are actually European in nature, as well.

Re: Your Theater of Choice?

I think the reason most people game in European Theater is because most games are in that theater as oppose to Pacific.

Re: Your Theater of Choice?

I've played some Steel Panthers scenarios in the Pacific, but I never really got that interested in gaming that theater. Don't know why for sure, especially since I'm a Marine!

I am a Marine too. I don't find the Pacific very interesting either.

Re: Your Theater of Choice?

I game mostly in the ETO. That said, when I'm in my Navy phase, you have got to go PTO unless I'm running down U-Boat rat line.

Re: Your Theater of Choice?

Let's keep it on the topic. I think there's a discussion of SP in the gaming section.

Somehow, rooting out dug in Japanese just isn't as exciting as armored battalions dancing around villages and fields slugging it out. Call me crazy...

Thanks Tom! Tgalx3, see Steel Panthers for Steel Panthers in the Electronic Gaming Discussion sub-forum.

I feel the same about the PTO. I think it interesting that PTO is making a presence in the game world, but not by much still. The Panzer Grenadier series of games by Avalanche Press, for instance, had three boxed games on the PTO, and they couldn't give them away. I believe they have stopped making them. Days of Wonder, on the other hand, came out with a Pacific expansion for their Memoir '44 game, which is absolutely fantastic, and they couldn't make enough of them!

I am enjoying PTO more than I did, but I still prefer ETO
