Re: Hurricane Collection
Well, it's not modellin' but it sure is models n' paintin' is involved so it's ok in my book.

Re: Hurricane Collection
Nice collection! And, I agree with Urban, if you are doing the painting its still a modeling skill.
Last year I happened across a 1/32 metal scale 109 G the hobby shop had out on the counter. It was pre-painted and man, what a job they did. But what really shocked me was when I picked it up. Damn thing must have weighed five pounds.

Re: Hurricane Collection
Nice collection Wolster...it'd look good in anybody's lounge room. I didn't know they had 1/32 die-cast.
Peace.

Re: Hurricane Collection
Hi Wolster,
I guess you have studied Flight Lieutenant Nicholson in some depth and have all the facts. Magnificent model by the way, I don’t really care which way they are package; I just love their looks and lines. I come from Southampton in the UK, James is quite a hero there, so much so james is my is one of my middle names. In case you don’t know here’s a little info. Flight Lieutenant James Nicholson, a Yorkshireman was Fighter Commands only VC, he won his award flying with No. 249 Squadron over Southampton. On August 16th 1940, Nicholson, in his Hurricane (P3576) with two other pilots from No. 249 Squadron, attacked enemy Messerschmitt 110s. The three RAF planes were in turn attacked by Bf109s. Tragically, he went missing while flying as a passenger in Liberator over the Bay of Bengal on 2nd May 1945. (Ironic!) Postage can be somewhat unbelievable at times, I received a surface parcel 500gm from the US at $35, and two weeks later I received a 3kg parcel at $45. Look forward to chewing the cud again sometime, tallyhooldboy, Col. |

Do you recall who made the Hurricane? I can't for the life of me remember the maker of the G and thought it might ring a bell if they were one of the same.

Re: Hurricane Collection
The Hurricane is made by Corgi, and I guess the 109G will be as well as I know they make several. I would get it while it is Authentic, looks like Hornby have brought a 'No Swastika' policy with them when they bought Corgi! That said, of my 3 German aircraft, only 1 has a Swastikas on.
