Stickey anyone?

I was just wondering if there were certain things you guys would like
to see put forward as a sticky, not that we need anything right now, but
maybe something to think about for future refference?

Model tips. All the how to knowledge you guys have collected over the years that would help out those of us not so blessed by the sytrene Gods.

Re: Stickey anyone?

I'll second the model tip bit. Those always help.

Tip #1: When modeling, don't try to watch TV at the same time.

Many years ago, I was working on the Italeri Opel Blitz. I was trying to score the passenger's side door so that I could leave it open a bit. Well, as I watched the boob tube, I ran the Xacto blade down the hinge line. Nothing happened. So I pressed a little harder. Still nothing happened, but I half noticed a rust colored stain on the door. I tried one more time, and realized the rust was blood. MY blood! I had been pushing on the wrong side of the blade, and it was now buried in my thumb! The pain level was nothing compared to the mortification level. Naturally, I did it in front of my father and siblings...

Tip #2: After finishing a painting job on your model and just washed the paint of your hands with terpentine: Don't light a smoke. This can result, besides the loss of your facialhair, in a burning desk, a crashed aquarium and a broken chair.

But seriously: Tips form an expert would be great. Maybe I'll dare to start a new model after all. Last time I build a model without a plan. It turned out to be a crappy Tiger Tank...on second thought I should have stuck with the plan and built that Spitfire.

Tip #2 sounds like a "Funniest Home Video" moment. - Classic

Well if you want to give a Tiger Tank another go Klaus, LT is the man you want to pump for information.
(He has proverbly built more Tigers than I've had hot dinners.)

Back on the original subject:
Modelling Tips would be good, so would NEW Releases and Model Kits Rated.

Cheers,
Dave

I have two Osprey books on modeling Panzers, that are fantastische! Scanning them would probably violate copyright, but there might be a way to share some of that information?

Sure, there's always a way to share information. I've got volumes of Panzer "Stuff" in my library (OK it's not a real library, mostly just stacks of old cardboard boxes with really nice reference material inside of them) and I am more than willing to 'Share' whatever you guys need.

@Aussie Dave: Sounds like he built more Panzer than the Germans did. If I can make up my mind what to build I sure will ask someone of you guys. That's for sure.

You can not go wrong there, Klaus. LT, Aussie Dave, Razorboy and Panzermacher are, in my opinion, world class modelers. And one of the nicest bunch of guys one would want to know.
