Re: A seasonal Hobby?

I get crabby if I can't model for a few days, unless I'm away on holidayor something. I'm not working much now because my partner is downstairs (where my study is) with my daughter so as not to disturb us boys upstairs...it's a struggle for me at the moment. Right now, I should be weathering my tank.

Re: A seasonal Hobby?

Winter is the time for my part when I feel the urge the most but I'm only done this for a few years so it's really hard to tell.

Re: A seasonal Hobby?

I agree with Dallas. When its hot humid outside I like to model in doors, but most any time is also good for me.

Problem is with the house remodel, and my current health problems I have not been able to do a single kit in about a year. The stock pile of boxes in the closet keeps growing (last count 36 and one ordered last night) and I am dying to get to them.

With Father's Day and a Birthday coming up, figure about another 20 to come.

One day my fingers will work again, the project will be behind me, and no one will hear from me for about a year or so.

I didn't know you're having health issues either, cyberia...I can relate...I hope nothing severe, and your back in full gear soon, Mate!

Re: A seasonal Hobby?

Thanks for the concern guys. It was nothing a little open heart surgery back in December didn't begin to correct. Turns out I had a heart valve deformed since birth.

On the mend now but my hands are still a problem. Something to do with the tiny blood vessels in my fingers having been constricted due to lack of proper blood flow for a few years.

Considering the Doc's all think it could have and should have been a much more serious problem for me in my late 20s, I came out of it in pretty good shape.

Re: A seasonal Hobby?

Sporadic is a better word for my modeling habits. I haven't built anything in almost a year but I did load my modeling tackle box into the truck this last time out so maybe I'll get some work done. I'm somewhat obsessive compulsive so once the mood strikes me I jump into the project everyday for weeks and then take a long break. Nothing consistent or predictable in my building, which is as it should be since it's a hobby, not a job .
