WW2 Air Racers

Salutations All

I am in the first thoes of begining to build Axis aircraft and i have chosen a novel way to present them, i have decided that they will be painted as Air Racers, but with their original marking.

Like having a Me-262 still with it's JG-26 markings but painted as an air racer in bright Red or Yellow.

Regards

Re: WW2 Air Racers

I guess you're aware that there are kits (and aftermarket decals) available for existing WW2 air racers. Eduard have two P-39 kits in 1/48. There's also a few F4Us and P-51s too.

Salutations Geek44

Thank you for the info, i have decided to stick to Axis aircraft, they look much cooler, imagine the Heinkel He-163 Salamander in Red Bull or Volkswagon sponsorship livery. Of course they will still have their National markings of course.

The Project has started already with the Macchi 202 it is a test bulid, nothing to flash just to experiment with paining and decal application, it'll be my model hack.

Re: WW2 Air Racers

I echo Whiterook in his request for pics...c'mon mate, we're all interested. Even in test hacks...hey, we've all got 'em. Mine's an old Tamiya Panther. I think I've painted and stripped it back twice now.

Re: WW2 Air Racers

There can be quite a lot to learn from test models, and I'd love to see folks post there experimentations. Who knows...where you may run into a raodblock, someone else may have an answer...or several answers!
