Re: Cromwell Models (UK)

Even better!! thanks McCoy. They will be so much better to work with than the soft plastic variety.

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)

I've recently found dozens of my old soft plastic figures...all the old Airfix sets I had as a kid turned up in my old Lego box when I gave it to my son. God they're awful. I even thought about a thread here entitled something like 'What The Hell Is This Guy Doing?!' There are figures that look like they're weight lifting their rifles with both hands held straight up like a clean and jerker. The classic German officer firing a Luger while running at full speed and the Japanese Army set...they look like they're break dancing rather than conquering Malaya.

Yeah, it's odd, but I seem to have less and less patience with slow loading web pages these days. I must be spoiled with faster Internet connections, as I remember years ago when I bought my first computer, that damned blue bar seemed to take forever!

Still does for me mate. We're on a pretty basic broadband deal and I rip through our download allocation in about a week. I don't 'surf' much...I usually check my few emails and then come here...there are plenty of pics here. That means three weeks of hitting a button, making a cup of tea, and it's only 3/4 loaded.

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)

I had that speed problem until I changed companies (the major Aussie Telco no longer has me as a customer). I would like it faster and more than 12 gig per month but I don't really need it.

Geek - some of those old Airfix figures are worth a bit these days - especially if you have some from the original packs. EG - German WWII infantry. The original figures are smaller than the later pack plus they look really bad.

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)

I would imagine they'd sell pretty well on the secondary market...like EBay.

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)

MAGNA, we banned the major telco about five years ago. when we moved into our house, we had the phone connected. After a week we received our first bill for $635.00. We were being billed for calls made to Ethiopia among other places and when we said we wouldn't pay for calls we clearly hadn't made...they cut the service 'until we payed our bill'. We also got a lot of those annoying marketing calls from the centres in India. We got onto the 'Do Not Call Register' and they stopped. However in the last three days, we've had three calls from artsleT () asking if we would use their service. I disapprove of ANYBODY calling me unbidden to sell me crap I don't need when I should be playing with my kids or whatever wholesome stuff I do with my time. We're looking into the existence of an ombudsman or somebody who can make 'em stop because I can't help but be rude and nasty to the poor sod who makes the call but isn't actually responsible for their arrogant behaviour. When they ask me in their best 'marketing-ese'; 'What do we have to do to get your business?' I always say; 'Give me a free gold-plated phone that plays Foxy Lady as a ring tone and give me free service for mine, and my kids' lifetimes'. Funnily enough, they won't play ball.
I can't say anymore because I can feel bad language coming on.

Interesting to suddenly find a Swedish word in the text mate...

Re: Cromwell Models (UK)

It's the name of the major Aussie telco spelled backwards because they're the spawn of Satan.

I know how you feel Geek. They don't ring me anymore. I was getting calls from India but I knew it was them because there is always a pause before they talk. If I do get anything like that now I just talk over the top of them and say "Herrro... you prace order? You wan' flies wif dat?". They always hang up straight away - well - 100% success rate so far.
