Re: Groupbuild?

Alright guys put your thoughts together and give me any suggestions you desire. This is how i see it so far:

1. Two builds: 1 for 8 weeks long, and one for 6 months.

2. No judges, vote is by public?

3. First topic i think should be wide open, anything!

4. Second topic??

What else guys?

Re: Groupbuild?

Topic suggestions that I'd like to see:
  • Commonwealth tincans
  • Anything goes as long as it did see action in North Africa
  • Early campaigns (Poland to Greece)
  • PTO
  • Russian tincans

Re: Groupbuild?

A nice n' challengeing topic for a speed build could be.

Build an old kit OOtB (at least 25 years old kit, preferable older)

Works for me, just bought an Italeri Stug IV circa 1976 on ebay.
LT, please specify what time frame you are talking about on this "Open Build", 1933 - 1945 or what?

I'm assuming as this is the "World War 2 Zone" that any and all builds would be from that era? Ja?

Re: Groupbuild?

Don't know if I can get a kit that old here. Would it be alright if the modeller is well over 25 ?

Subjects look good too.

Re: Groupbuild?

I like the WWII theme, but eventually its gonna get old.

I like an artillery idea? A small "open" build, but than a longer, more serious, subject build?

Flammpanzers and other flame stuff?
Supply vehicles?
US Amry stuff?
SS stuff?

Re: Groupbuild?

I don't have any old kits as such but...

I do have a couple of Airfix kits (Avro Lancaster & Short Stirling) where the molds used to make them are bloody ancient.

Do they count as being "OLD" models?
(They will be a challenge because they both have raised panel lines and a lot off flash around the parts and not forgetting to mention warping.)

Cheers,
Dave

Re: Groupbuild?

That could also be a good choice for a speedbuild.

Build an Airfix 1:72 kit OOtB

Only if its a larger 1/72 bomber though.

A 1/72 Arfix fighter plane can be built and finished in a couple of days easily.

Cheers,
Dave
