Re: Groupbuild?

I think it would be nice to allow other time periods for the open build.

As the 8 week one will be limted to just WW2.

Re: Groupbuild?

Ok! When will the builds start? I've got more than a few kits in my stash that's old enough. The main problem lies in what to build-

This idea with groupbuilds is good as it spurs at least me to build more n' a groupbuild that starts with a new theme every tvo months is also good as one can choose to not participate in one n' soon enough be able to participate in the next one if the theme isn't interesting enough. On the other hand a ongoin long build makes it possible to build at a slower pace n' add stuff along the way to the build.

I wonder if Monograms Pro Modeler series would be acceptable?
Buy anything made by Airfix LT.
Nearly all their stuff is older than us both mate.

Cheers,
Dave

If you can find any, the Testors/Italeri stuff fits the bill.

Re: Groupbuild?

I have Testors old RSO kit, now i will admit it is built, RB has seen it.
But i havn't done a thing with it, its still in a primer grey. I will ask you guys
and leave it up to you if i can use it in the first 8 week group build? It still is
far from being done, needs alot of work, but up to you guys?

I already have a plan for the 6 month monster. So what start date you guys want?

BTW the winner of the 6 month jobby will get?? and i will post a pic of this
cuz it's cool! and oh that makes me inelgible so if i got lucky enough to win
it goes to second place.

Re: Groupbuild?

I've got thoughts for my own six month build that involves stuff that I'm not that familiar with.

Having quite a lot of old kits so there's a hard decision to make for my part.

I'm fine with anyone takin' up an old n' dormant kit that probably wouldn't be built otherwise. It can really be a challenge to restart with an old halfbuilt kit.

I'd say that we set the start date to april 1st so we have the start at the beginnin' of the month on both builds. But since this two builds is the first here at the Zone we'll jumpstart 'em right now even if the official startdate isn't due just yet.

I say go for it Chris! I don't see any problem with a started piece. Mod out that Steyer the way we talked about, that'd be more than cool! The rest of you guys OK with that?

Got a couple of 25 year old (or older) kits on hand, might have a hard time choosing. Got a sweet one in mind for the "Open Build" - As far as a start date, I'm Okay with tomorrow, you Guys?

Re: Groupbuild?

All sounding great guys...I wouldn't have a problem with LTs RSO either...heck it's supposed to be fun rather than strict.
I'm easy with whatever you guys decide by the way.

Re: Groupbuild?

I have an old Tamiya Daimler that is half finished. I moved, put it away and never got around to it again. It's definitely old enough.
