I have no problem with a partially started kit, either...my vote is to go for it!
I just read through this thread...excellent suggestions, guys! I have to say, I love the idea of the long "Open Class" build...any era, military subject...that keeps it nice and loose as to what to build; and the shorter build being more specific to subject matter. My suggestion would be to maintain this course...keep the longer build an "Open Class" each build; and the winner of the shorter build picks a new topic for the next short build.
