That's what I thought too. I suppose shades of grey would be best but I'm not really sure.

Lookin' great lads.
Hey McCoy, I'll be interested to know how you get on with the Friuls. Every single article I've read recommends chucking the supplied wire and substituting brass or stainless rod. It makes sense to me and I've bought about two metres of stainless for about three bucks...but then the magazine modellers seem to complicate things in my opinion.
Good luck with 'em...they're tedious but I think there ain't no better track available.
Peace.

I'm goin' with the suplemented wire here n' I feel that they're enough, at least for this tiny links.

I think so too actually. I've started a run for my Sdkfz. 251 that's unfinished but packed away. The supplied wire seemed adequate to me.

Hehe, 251 links is tiny but it must be better with Friul than Dragon there 'cos on Dragon you've got the rubberpad loose n' glue it in place in order to secure the next link...

Yeah...those pads pose a problem. I actually like the idea of seperate pads to make painting easier though. They're beautiful links in metal.

Ever tried Modelkasten or any similar tracklink were there's 'bout 5-6 parts per link?

Quick query - the Daimler has very large wheels for it's body size so black tyres are going to look wrong for sure. Should I use a grey of some sort on the sidewalls to simulate fading before I put sand (desert) on them ? Not really sure with this larger scale.

If anyone can help here I would be grateful. Ta.
I always use grey, I sell tires for a living and I can tell you, it only takes a week or two for any tire exposed to the elements to turn grey. Remember there was no Armor-All in 1943, unless it's just off of the assembly line, they should be dark grey in my opinion.

Humbrol #67 is a perfect tirecolour.
