Re: Group Build 6 month- open class (9-1-08) $$PRIZE

No clue MAGNA.
Hey Wolster they're a great pair of kits. Especially the Halifax. I like the earlier models with the straight edged tail fins. I wonder how the Revell kit compares to the Airfix abomination. I thing King Louis XIV had one in his collection it was so old.

The kit looks OK, it is actually the old Matchbox kit. The side description describes it as 'Historical', makes me feel old!! Mind you, I always liked the old Matchbox stuff!

Does anyone know if there is a model available of the Sd Kfz 254 observation half track. I think it was Austrian. It had tracks and retractable wheels. Wierd but interesting as a model.
I've seen it somewhere in resin but if it's still available is an alltogether different matter.

Well, the first progress picture. Not too far along, considering, but I've trimmed flash off the hull (this is HARD plastic!), and started assembling the elevator supports. The locating pins are real scarce for these, and the columns had a lot of wiggle, so I secured them with clamps:

I've got the elevator doors on the rear zones, as well, and a couple other little bits and baubles. A lot of these parts are real tiny, and very brittle, so this is going to be an adventure!

EDIT: I forgot to mention, you can't see it real well, but I was brave and put one of the life boat sections together...now that took patience I didn't know I still had! I did the rocket launchers on the rear, as well. I need a hand held magnifying lens to see some of this stuff's placement!

Nice WR, looks like your way ahead. I'm in the middle of my current project
