Email notifications

One thing I haven't quite gotten a handle on yet is, the email notifications that I get when I post, or post to, a thread. On the one hand, they're a nice feature, so I'm sure many are happy with this service; I on the other hand have a "not so swift" email service through Charter Communication, and all thise email notices have been a bit daunting. I tried disabling it with the "No Email" selection, but I still get them, so perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

The option that you need to set is "Default Thread Subscription Mode" in User Options in the User Control Panel. If you set it to "Do not subscribe" you won't get emails. You can also set it manually for each thread in which you post if you wish to override your default settings.

Of course that won't change the threads to which you are already subscribed. To do that, you need to go User Control Panel...List Subscriptions and manually delete them.

Thanks Jim...I actually had done that. I didn'tt realize the bit about the ones I'm already subscribed to. Thanks! I'll experiment with the option.
