Re: Confused

Please clarify. Is the problem that you are being logged out in the middle of a session? Or is it that when you return to the site you have been logged out?

Re: Confused

Waffle, if I could remember where the Remember button is, I'd be dangerous!

Barrett.t.....if I'm reading you right this is what I think is happening to you (Jim can correct me if I get this wrong): When you first bring up the site on your computer, you can read posts, for instance, but since you are at that stage a "Guest", you can't access cetain features, like posting to the thread you are looking at, and you can't see the pictures a member may have posted in their post.

If you notice at the top of the screen, it mentions that you are logged in as a Guest; and at the bottom of the screen (scroll down), you will notice it says (in a small box on the left, titled "Posting Rules"): "You may not post new threads" (..."post replies", :...post attachments", etc.).

In order to post to a thread; post attachments; see pictures; send a PM; etc....you need to log in, changing from Guest status with limited privelages, to Member status, with member privelages.

Hope that helps.

Re: Confused

Hi Barrett. I thought this was happening to me at one stage but it was because I was opening tabs to view different threads. When I was impatient (as I still am) I would go to the main page and then tab open a thread or two to read the posts. At some stage I would log in on one of the tabs and post. I usually close a tab after I post and then the earlier pages seem to show I am not logged on (hope you get what I mean). This is of course because I opened them before I logged on. It is simple to fix as a reload of the current tab/page then shows me to be logged on.

You can probably tell from this that I wasn't used to using tabs.

Computers can still be a challenge for so many of us. I use the darned thing all day long at work, and it's still a great pain at times. The one thing that can be counted on...it's out to get us (did that sound paranoid?) Hang in there mates!

barrett.t, there is no need to have started a new thread about this. Please use the one that you already had started about this problem. I have merged them for your convenience.

Now if you can answer the question that I asked you above, perhaps I can offer some assistance.
