Exclamation My digital camera finally, well almost.........

I should be able to pick one up Moday or Tuesday, so any hlp here on how to get this thing hooked up and working to get some pics in here at the Zone is what I'm looking for please. OK I don't see a "place" to put a Dig camera card into my computer, but there is supposed to be that cord outlet for the camera cord that should get the pics to my pictures on the computer......

Now, the only things I see on the back of the computer, (ya, a cheap one after mine actually burnt up, a lovely 300 and some$$ E-Machine for the moment, don't LOL to hard now Zoners!!)

I see a microphone port, an in-line and an out line port then a printer, serial 1, Lan and finally a UBS port. I "think" I ned to use the UBS port to plug into the computer??

Download the software for that camera then presto, take some pics then follow some instruction guidelines (hopefully) and I would be good to go here??

Cheers, no clue here as you can tell.....

Thanks in advance guys and gals!!!

A VERY not so computer savvy Tom

Re: My digital camera finally, well almost.........

Tom,

It's a USB port and yes, most cameras come with a cable that will connect your camera to your computer via a USB port. Most also have some photo editing software so you can crop your images should you have a need.

Alternatively, you can get a cheap card reader and use that. Most of those can connect directly to the computer via USB and then you can read your card as if it were another drive on your machine.

Good luck. Let me know if I can help.

If all else fails, find some school kid down the street. He can probably upgrade your machine while he's at it!

Smile Re: My digital camera finally, well almost.........

THANKS GUYs for the ribbing, but I managed to get this home tonight after work!! It's just a 100 and something $ Kodac, but it's all mine. HA HA!!
The batteries are in, the memory card is in and the disk is downloaded. Right now I am reading the instructions and going over my computer again to find that memory card slot...... still no go there as of yet, so it looks like the old (new) USB cord will have to do. No idea if it will make a diff or not, but I wil try it out.

Cheers, not sure what the hell to do yet, maybe a couple more pages of instructions I guess, and the camera does work as far as I can tell, which is'nt sayin' much!! LOL

"Digital" TRDG

Hey Paul, I had to get Jim to explain about your "crank", I thought it was some kind of "computer thing", HONEST!!!

With a camera that's likely to result in broken glass.

Unhappy Re: My digital camera finally, well almost.........

The instructions are a big joke, it must be in the Spanish or French booklet I guess. OK, plug in the USB cord to the camera and then the computer, then....... Does it automatically go to some kind of screen? Do I go to my pictures??? Do I have to be off-line to do this? No clue, sorry guys, about what I expected so far........

Cheers, any advise here from ya please??

Re: My digital camera finally, well almost.........

Plug it in, then turn the camera on. It should open up a window to download the pics from the camera to the computer.
