Armour Battles of the Waffen-SS
Wili Fey
ISBN: 0811729052

Originally when I purchased this book, I thought it was a history of the Waffen-SS Panzer units. I was wrong, most of the book were veteran's accounts, organized by Mr Fey, who wrote introductions about battles and campaigns in chapters. Needless to say, I was not disapointed. The accounts are well written and understandable and easy to follow. Despite this, it also has some information on units, etc. The book starts with the Waffen-SS Panzer Divisions at the Kharkov campaign in early 1943 and ends at the end of the war. There is a flavour of desperation towards the end of the book, especially with the part of the attempted breakthrough in the Halbe pocket. Unlike many other Waffen-SS related books, fortunately there is no political correctness. A classic work on the Waffen-SS.
