I had placed a good sized order for Old Glory Command Decision miniatures through Warweb.com back at the very end of March, and it was an effort at filling in a lot of blank holes in my 15mm WWII OOB apart from what I had been doing like-wise with Flames of War miniatures. My Axis & Allies Miniatures are nice, but the cost of purchasing them individually is actually cost prohibitive (and IMHO, down right foolish!), when compared to buying exactly what you need through Flames of War (FoW), and even more so with Old Gloryy Command Decision minis, which are even better priced than FoW. I knew I wanted to get something from Warweb while they had their 40% off sale back then, and just did another order last night!

:applause: Here's what I ordered back in March:

1 x 3 in AT Guns (6 / pack) $8.40
1 x M10 Tank Destroyer (3/pkg) $13.20
1 x M36 Tank Destroyer (3/pkg) $13.20
1 x M4A3(76) HVSS inc M4A3 EA - easy eight Sherman (3/ $13.20
1 x Achilles 17pdr. SP Tank Destroyer (3/pkg) $13.20
1 x M4A4 Sherman (3/pkg) $13.20
1 x Sherman Firefly (3/pack) $13.20
1 x Flak 36 88mm AA/AT gun (2/pkg) $8.40
1 x Command Decision - Test of Battle 4th Edition $47.50

When they come in, I'll make sure to post pics here of them with a shot of before and after!!!

The Old Glory pricing looks to be very good. Do they do figures as well ?

Yeah....they do a ton of figures....sell them by packages of 50 count. I believe Frizzensparks ordered a bunch. The cool thing is, the figures aren't just the live fighting men, but they also have dead and wounded, with stretcher teams, artillery crews, infantry in fox holes, and a bunch more; not mixed in the same pack mind you, but still, it can gove a diverse mix of soldiers!

The prices are excellent, especially for all metal units. the prices you see here reflect the 40% Off sale price I bought them at (same with the otther order), but considering I bought my first order back in March, and again now in June....literally 3 months shy a day or two....and there was a sale each time, I would venture a pretty stong guess that they have a 40% Off Sale on their Command Decision minis regularly!

This is just ballparking a quick estimate here but, based on current individual unit prices on Flames of War and Axis & Allies Miniatures, both orders combined of JUST VEHICLES would have cost me around $700 USD; whereas with WarWeb's Command Decision miniatures, I paid roughly $260 USD. That jives with my original estimates that you can outfit your OOB with Old Glory Command Decision miniatures ayt roughly a THIRD of the cost of the leading competitors mentioned. That's huge to this Frugal New Englander!

The Old Glory Command Decision miniatures are pretty good, not as chunky as the Flames of War miniatures.

Negatives for the OGCD miniatures are that you get fifty of a particular soldier in a pack, a pack of riflemen are just riflemen, a pack of LMG gunners are just LMG gunners/crew...this is not so bad, but do you really need fifty PIAT gunners/25 teams?

You have to buy/make bases whereas the FOW minis have bases provided.

For about fifty dollars (American) I bought a British Late-War Rifle Company w/ three Churchill tanks for support. I'm missing the requisite 2" mortar and PIAT teams. I've just discovered that I can order them special.

I bought four packs 2x packs of riflemen (sold as pack #1 and pack #2), 1x pack of LMG and one pack of command. I have enough of the later packs to likely build a second infantry company.

I put in an order this morning for Late-War Germans: 2x packs of riflemen {#1 and #2}, 1x pack of LMG one pack of command, 1x pack HMG and 1x pack Hvy Mortars {8 cm}.

These are for Number One Son......Not sure exactly how I intend to configure them, I should get a book...but first I have to learn how to read.

Very cool mate! I have to confess that I haven't ordered any infantry....just AFVs, artillery, and trucks. Axis & Allies Miniatures infantry is actually pretty nice...different types, but all M1 Garands are the same, MG Teams, Mortars, etc.; so I guess it shares the same issues as OGCD (Frizz....I like that acronym, BTW :D). But for my current style of play, I don't need 'stands' of GROPOS ('Ground Pounders'), as a few do the trick; 'cause I play more Skirmish-level. That will probably change in time though, as certain Mercenaries of Gaming here (and you know who you are) have tantalized and titalized my gaming spirit with Battlefront WWII, and to a smaller degree, Flames of War. Command Decision actually has it's own rules, by the way....and yup, I bought it!
