Hi, everyone! My name is Paul Schultz, and I am excited to have discovered this site (I just joined the community this morning). I am a High School History teacher of twenty-one years, and am also an author of World War II Historical Fiction. I have been a WWII buff all my life, and am looking forward to visiting this site often! My new novel is entitled THE FUHRER VIRUS. It is a spy/conspiracy/thriller set in the summer of 1941, and its settings include the Eastern Front, Washington, D.C., New York City, on board German U-boats in the North Atlantic, Mexico, East Prussia, and Berlin. Welcome aboard....we're glad you found your way here! Make sure to stop by the Gaming area....maybve we can hook you on games, too! We have a member here that teaches grade school, and he uses the game "Memoir '44" as a teaching aid to get the kids to 'feel' a bit of history. He has had enormous success with it. Games and the game industry are being recognized by many in the teaching community as valuable tools to get that 'hook on history' planted deep without too far a cast of the line, so to speak!

Thanks to all of you who were kind enough to welcome me to the "Zone"! I appreciate it, and am looking forward to exploring the various features offered. I will try to respond to a couple of the questions posed...
1) About "maps". My book does not contain any maps, but I try (as best I can) to accurately describe my settings (in detail), since they are so important in telling the story. Let me know if I have been successful!
2) About my location. I live in Bowmanville, Ontario (Canada), which is a town on the north shore of Lake Ontario, about thirty miles east of Toronto.
3) Many thanks to the suggestion about becoming "hooked" on games, and using them as teaching tools. It is an area I would love to explore in more depth (especially since so many today have a WWII theme). At the age of 45, my video game experience is still stuck in the Space Invaders/Pac Man/Galaga era, so I suppose it is time to check out some of the newer stuff. As a younger man, I did dabble a bit with War Games (in the gameboard format, with the hex maps, cardboard pieces indicating units, all those complicated rules, etc.)
Thanks again for the welcome!

Hi Paul, another teacher here, COOL, and I see you do have some background in gaming, we have a bit of both here, electronic and ones you can post and play on, from time to time. Do you ever model by chance and what other WW II topics are you into?
Cheers, I hope to see you soon on the Zone!!
