Am interested in anything you have on USS LST 818. My father served on that ship during the war and for a period of time after cessation of hostilities. I know he had several close friends that he contacted every Christmas, but I have no information on their full names.
My dad served on the U.S.S. L.S.T. 818. According to dads navpers-601 service record it was attacked by a japanese suicide dive bomber on april 12 1945. What info do you have on status after that incident? Dad passed away yesterday 11/12/08 @ 2:15 from a massive stroke after battling prostate cancer. My e-mail address for anyone with info firstname.lastname@example.org

lots of info on google about LST 818 'tap in uss lst 818' hope this helps
My father, Frank Woodland, signalman 3rd class, also served on the LST 818. He died in 2003. I am currently trying to put together a detailed timeline of the ship, especially after the trip to Johnston Island, where the written account of the ship ends. I would like to contact others and exchange information. I do have my dad's photo album and some written information. My e-mail is: email@example.com.
