Just trying a test run with my new copy of Photoshop. I created a game of Squad Leader on VASSAL, in which I placed some units on a Squad Leader Map, to see what it would look like here......

OK, not too bad. I suppose I could Crop it full-board to enlarge it a little; I'll have to play with that....but at least you can see an overall image of the full playing field and all the counters.

Now let's see a Crop in just one section.......

Geeeeez, that ain't too bad! I had really liked what Double Deuce did with his ASL Game, but for the life of me, I haven't a clue on how he was able to arrange that friggin' interactive map. This is a pretty decent alternative; plus it keeps it all 'onsite', without having to go to an external site to see the map.

Panzer Leader is a much simpler game than Squad Leader, and certainly miles simpler than Advancerd Squad Leader. I'll have to consider hosting a game in the Den!

You got it! Well, let's try a game then. Perhaps we'll try a mainly armor game with minimal Infantry, just to get folks into it. I'll put a Call For Players out. You have first pick as you're the first onboard. Look for the Call Up in the General Discussions section

OK, with the crash of my desktop computer, and Photoshop CS4 going "POOF!" along with it (ouch!!!), time to start testing again and see what I can do with what I got (thanks Sheryl Crow!). The problem was converting VASSAL files, which Photoshop handled like a dream. Let's see what Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 can do.....

Turn 5 of the American Combat Phase of the Panzer Leader Balltle for Hill 306 game, at 100%, converted to a .jpeg

OK, looks like we may be back in business folks! The crop is a little more difficult with Corel, but it works.....I just have to remember the sequence, but it'll get easier with practice. I really do like Photoshop better, but really, the two programs seem to basically do the same-about thing.

Alrighty then! Using Corel PaintShop Pro Photo X2, it doesn't matter what % you save as in....the size that comes up on the screen is the same....but at least I can change VASSAL files into JPEGs!
