I think its over priced ,around 500/600,-would be a better price
alot fakes around

I would have it checked out by an expert before spending any $$ on it. Like Piet said, a LOT of repros/fakes out there.

Well if it's a 2nd class you are looking for at dealer sites around $125.00 and up, there were a couple EKII's at WAF running between $75.00 and $110.00.

Prices vary, but at least three times the price. Actually, the WAF (Wehrmacht Awards Forum) isn't a bad place to look if you want to purchase militaria and have it checked out before hand. That was the advice given to me before I bought an EKII, and it paid off very well. I wouldn't touch a dagger until you'd had dagger experts have a look at it on line.

thanks bishop. I've decided I will NOT be purchasing the dagger. I like to collect 5 Reichsmark coins pre-1940 and am building up a nice collection of them. I want to get ahold of a Party badge and an Iron Cross 1st Class too.
I'm not big on spending thousands of dollars on a single item, so the things I aquire are generally smaller.

That would be good. It was Hagen who helped me out with the EKII big time. Its really good to have someone watching out for you who can give advice and be a second set of eyes.

My guy is offering to sell me an Iron Cross 1st Class w/ ribbon for $325. It's in very nice shape. He said the story behind it is: Pulled off a dead German in the Ardenne during the initial invasion of France.
Iron Cross 2nd Class comes with ribbon, 1st Class does not. If it is a First Class in decent shape with a tight frame $325.00 isn't to bad.
There is a saying amongst collectors. Buy the piece, not the story.
