OK guys, most of you know how this works. A member posts a photograph or drawing of a ship, no other information, and other members try to guess what it is. If the post "stumps" for too long, hints should be forthcoming.

I'll kick this section off with...

Not Empire Salvage, Wolster, but yes a service ship.

The two flags are the clue LT.

Not a famous vessel, but an important one with a late commission in the war.

This may have been a bit too obscure. With two votes "Aye" I'll name this ship and we can move on to another.

Looks like the Union Jack on the front and the White Ensign on the rear, UJ can only be flown at anchor from the jack mast.

OK, I probably should have gone with something a bit less obscure...

HMS Hartland Point

Indeed a service ship, Wolster. And yes, LT, two different flags.

As Wolster pointed out: "Looks like the Union Jack on the front and the White Ensign on the rear, UJ can only be flown at anchor from the jack mast."

The HMS Hartland Point although commissioned and built by the English in 1944, was transfered to service with the Canadian Navy in 1945. The point of exchange when this particular photo was taken.

C3 type submarine-Japanese (IJN)

C3 type submarines were submarines of the Imperial Japanese Navy, designed and built by Mitsubishi Corporation, between 1943 and 1944, as cargo carriers. They were quite long and carried a crew of up to 94 persons. They also had a long cruising range at a speed of 12 knots.

Only 3 built? Right, right right?????

Are you sure? I have a picture that shows the double masts (1 front and 1 rear) the conning tower windows, Deck Gun placement.

The only other one I can find is the B3 Class. Deck Gun. I can not be 100% as the picture I have with the conning tower is a side profile and I am not sure if it has the windows. The B3 also has the 2 masts.
