About Me
Retired from 26 years in US Army as Captain (O-3); 4 tours in Iraq between 2003-2009; Joined Army @ 17 (Enlisted MOS 11B-Infantry) in 1984 and re-enlisted in Texas National Guard in 1991 Achieving rank of Staff Sgt. (E-5); BA History & BS in Structural Engineering from University of Houston (1995): Executive Officer Candidate with U of H ROTC ; Re-enlisted Regular Army 1996 (MOS 12B-Combat Engineers) and commissioned as 2nd Lt. (O-1); Promoted 1st Lt. (O-2) 2001; Cpt,(O-3) 2006. I lost my Right leg below knee March 2009 to two 12.7mm HMG bullets and was forced into retirement/disability in 2010 at age 43. I have a prosthetic leg now so I do just fine with the exception of the boredom!
I am now passing the time building 1/35 scale WWII models. I build all combatants from the "bad guys" to the "good guys" I also do a lot of reading in military history from ancient to present times, but I'd say more than 90% on WWII and especially WWII vehicle references. Over the years I've acquires appx. 500 or so books on military history and another 200 (at least) WWII vehicle reference books.
