2700 WW2 related photos
I was poking around with my site the other day and you know what I realized? My collection of WW2 photos has grown to 2700+ now! This sort of serves as a shameless plug, but I really want to remind you guys to check my site every so often. There are some really interesting pics there. For example, I have 200 photos of the Iwo Jima campaign; a bulk of them are in color, too.

Re: 2700 WW2 related photos
Despite the risk of getting
emoticons, I still have to say this: I just broke 3,000 photos yesterday!

Re: 2700 WW2 related photos
Aside from almost breaking the 3,400 mark, I also want to say that visitors may now submit comments on each individual picture. Aside from commentary, I also hope to get more information than what my bare minimum captions provide, corrections to anything I may have mis-identified, etc. So check it out!
Photo collection main page: WW2DB: Photographs This is a nice color picture (Normandy, June 1944) I just added last night: WW2DB: [Photo] Canadian crew of a Sherman tank south of Vaucelles, Normandy, France, Jun 1944 Of course, what WW2 photo collection of an American would be without this photo: WW2DB: [Photo] Raising the US flag atop Mt. Suribachi by Joe Rosenthal, 23 Feb 1945 Hope you guys will enjoy it! |

Re: 2700 WW2 related photos
Back in July, I made the last post in this thread noting that my website, ww2db, has reached 3,000-some photos. I'm happy to announce that, today, it reached the big 5,000 mark! Here's the lucky #5000, Lt. Gen. Bernard Freyberg:
WW2DB: [Photo] Lieutenant General Bernard Freyberg, commanding officer of Indian and New Zealand Division at Cassino, Italy, 3 Jan 1944 Thanks for everyone's support for WW2DB that made this happen. Especially Jim, who generously gave me room in his RSS Feeds subforum to help me advertise the site
