Is all backwards music evil?

I think not! THis ranks up with the end of AMish Paradise where Weird Al had to do everything backwards so it looked like he was going forwards when they played that section of the video in reverse...

Guy Sings Song Backwards - Double Agent

YouTube - Weird Al' Amish Paradise (towards the end... you'll know what I'm talking about

Re: Is all backwards music evil?

There's a backwards message on Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' that says;
'Congratulations, you've found the secret message. Please send your answer to 'Old Pink' care of the funny farm in Chalfont'. That's not 'evil', that's funny.

Re: Is all backwards music evil?

Iron Maiden put :"Hee Hee, we fooled you. You think we put backwards messages on this but we didn't." at the beginning of Still Life off of Piece of Mind.

The Beatles put: "We f*ck like supermen." on the Sergeant Pepper's LP.

Personally, I play my vinyl forwards.

Re: Is all backwards music evil?

Definitely not all evil as some songs sound better backwards than forwards so that can only be good e.g "treah ykaerb yhca" by suryC yaR ylliB.

Re: Is all backwards music evil?

I do have it on vinyl (heck...the bulk of my music is on vinyl and sadly, unlistened to for years now). Maybe I'll google it.
Thinkin' about this backwards music stuff. Actual backwards music (called 'back masking' in the industry) appears prominently on Jimi Hendrix's track 'Are You Experienced' and also on 'Tomorrow Never Knows' on the Beatles' Revolver album (IMO their best album). Certainly not 'evil' but totally righteous I say!
I remember watching a documentary years ago about two kids who botched their suicides by shotgun. A bad botch...they look so horrendous now they'd almost be better off if they'd succeeded. The authorities happened to find a Judas Priest album on the turntable and the lawsuits were on. If only it were so easy to influence people. We could record a crappy album and have the message; 'tcepser htiw srehto taert' or 'uoy tuoba lla t'nsi ti' or 'skoob erom daer'...the list is endless.
Brings me around to the obliquely related concept of the Spoonerism. Anyone familiar? You substitute the first letters of a two word combination. Thus; 'plastic bag' becomes 'blastic pag' and 'fish tank' becomes 'tish fank'. Okay? Why the hell would Brad and Angelina name their kid Shiloh Pitt?
Alright...it's not even remotely relevant.
Peace.

You'll know that Pitt is a Swedish slangword for Dick, n' not the shortform for Richard.

Yep I know the Spoonerisms....he was a Reverend who had a speech impediment that made him say things like that....one famous Spoonerism happened during a wedding...where the good Reverend told the groom "It is now "kisstomary to curse the bride!"

AS far as Backmasks in music...I heard the Paul is Dead on on Revolution #9 and ruined a White Album to hear it...but it is there. The truest way to hear Backmasks is on a good reel to reel.
