15 Minutes of Your Time

OK soldiers...a simple concept here...this is called "15 Minutes of Your Time" and the object here is, we tell an interactive story through posts. When you start your first post, assume the role of a "character" in our story; Axis, Allies, Civies, Resistance, Bar Maid, whatever your little heart desires! But once you assume the character, that's it...keep it going until the conclusion of the story. Each of your posts needs to cover 15 minutes of Real Time. I will monitor it to keep it going, and end it when we get to that point of no return. Simple! React to other characters; attach yourself to their unit; fight against them; seduce them for vital info (but keep it clean children!); even tangent plots to the central story, but not too many so we don't get to confused. This is definitely an experiment, but I did one similar in which I infiltrated Dr. Evil's (remember him) layer. It was fun, and went on for a bit, surprisingly.

The Plot ans start of our story:

I'm Major Stanton, a Canadian paratrooper with the Bristish "Red Devil's" 1st Airborne Division. I'm in a plane flying covertly over Sicily, at the cold wind hits my face as I jump into the night. My mission is to infiltrate Castle Bella with my group of elites to liberate General Standish, held prisoner within the Castle, a POW facility for high ranking Allied prisoners. General Standish is a key player in the plans for the Invasion of Sicily, and was shot down on a Recce flight, of which he wasn't supposed to be on! Can we rescue the General before the Gestapo break him...if they haven't already?

My name is Howard, Capt. John Howard SAS. How I came to be in league with these blokes I am unsure. Probably something to do with that recent unpleasantness in Tripoli - Brigadier General Smythe does not now, nor has he ever, posessed a sense of humor. At any rate, here I am. I report only to Major Stanton on this mission. He seems a decent enough fellow. As for the good Major and his unit, I know nothing of them and they know nothing of me. Let's just say we have different objectives in this mission and leave it at that.

Beastly dark night! We'll all be lucky not to break our bloomin' necks in this ink! Stepping into the door I throw myself out of the captured JU-52 and tumble a split second before I hear my canopy "SNAP!" open, then that jerk, reassuring me that all was well with my chute packer today. Looking groundwards I can see nothing, not a glimmer of lantern, electric light nor star to be seen, nothing, just black.

I'm Major Grimm, in charge of this Castle Bella. And i do not appriciate
having the Nazi Gestapo coming here to interogate my prisoners. I do not
like their methods, and goes against Military law, but i must obey. They are
due to arrive anytime, so i must be ready for them, and check my troops.

I'm Giancarlo the janitor who dislikes any kind of authorities, especially black shirts n' Gestapo. I prefer do take it easy n' rake the paths in the garden n' don't like to wipe the blood of the walls in the interigation room. But I'm calm in my knowledge that this castle wouldn't function without my tender care, in fact I'm certain that if I didn't it all would fall down to an uther chaos like a chickenfarm with a beheaded rooster.

Re: 15 Minutes of Your Time

The night wind blends with dark silence, as the "Iron Annie" transport drones back home in a sweeping arc. My God it's dark...a good thing. My cohorts must be out there somewhere, but you'd never tell, with this moonless night. Capt Howard was out the door behind me; I heard his chute open....funny what you pick up on when your senses are peaked, and I'm hoping the other boys made it out OK. I didn't think that old Luftwaffe bucket-0-bolts would make it in the air, but she flew straight and brave.

I don't know about Howard...he play's his cards close to the vest. But anyone who can piss off old Blood and Boil Smythe off that much has won a hearty measure of my respect already! My sources say Howard is the best there is, and I'll need his "special traits" he has earned such a reputation over. The rest of the lads are a good lot, and I'm counting on Howard to help me keep them alive.

I can smell blessed Mother Earth, so the landing zone is about to give me her welcome. Here we go...

Re: 15 Minutes of Your Time

Black as bloody pitch! Couldn't see your hand in front of your face if you tried. Don't know where my "Dangle-Bag" full of goodies has gotten to, damned strap snapped as clean as if it had been cut. As clean as if it had been cut.
I could do without the Sten Gun and ammo, even the explosives and the fuses but if the Jerries find it, the alarm will surely be sounded and the whole mission would be in jeopardy. I'll hold up here until first light, find my bag and make my way to the rally point. Got to find that bag before Jerry does.
The other Lads are out there somewhere, in that darkness. I can only hope they have fared better than I. Fairbairne-Sykes in hand I crawl into a culvert beside the road and look at my watch, 2 hours until first light.

Re: 15 Minutes of Your Time

Time to get up for another day now. I must time it so the axle on the garbage cart breaks timly just inside the main gate n' thus hinder the hated Gestapo proccesion to enter that way n' be forced to take a three hour detour down n' round the mountain up to the back gate. By the way, wasn't it today the my cousin Luca said that friends of the Don should pay a visit.

Great as if things weren't bad enough, i just received a radio message that
Himmler himself is coming here, hmmmm...must be real imporant prisoners i
have here for him to make an appearsence. This means he'll be bringing his
own personnal security guards as well. What a pain he is too, if i had my way.....no no bad thoughts, must continue on checking on my own guard.

Re: 15 Minutes of Your Time

I'll never get used to those damned parachutes. It seemed so adventuresome an idea to join the 1st Airborne, and God knows the training nearly killed me, but try as I may, jumping out a perfectly good plane seems fit but for morons. I can't believe I actually hit the clearing.....I was told our pilot flying our old Iron Annie "Greta" was the best their is, and damned if they weren't right. It's not often command gets something right! Chute is buried, and I'm nursing my bruised balls; that piece of engineering bullcrap "Danglke Bag" caught the wind just so, and slammed the Family Jewels at full ramming speed. If the boys ever get wind of this, I'll be buying beer to shut them up for years! Well, at least I'm not hungry anymore...I still feel like throwing up. GOD, I WISH I HAD SOME ICE!!!!! First light in 2 hours. I hope the boys made it down safe and sound.

Re: 15 Minutes of Your Time

Having fallen asleep for an hour and a half in my culvert, wrapped in my parachute for warmth, I hear the approaching bicycle. Easing out of the hole I see a teenaged Sicilian pedaling at a casual pace, what appears to be my "Dangle Bag" resting on his handlbars! Lying flat, I wait for him to come within reach, then ......
