A quick calculation gives the ETA 2000 for Jim to 34 days n' at the same time an ETA 2000 for Paul at 15.8 days.

Well since Jim has put in a new gear durin' the last couple of days it really looks like Paul won't make it, that is if he doesn't have some C-stoff n' T-stoff ready to mix in order to get some speed...
