Used to happen to my old man too. Later, when his alcoholic brain syndrome really kicked in, he'd speak to me in Finnish or Swedish. When I alerted him to it, he'd understand what he was doing but would struggle to find the English 'software' in his mind...sometimes he'd be 'stuck' for a while using the wrong language.

That's understandable! I guess that you belive me if I say that last year there was an warning issued that the Finnish people was on the edge of killin' itself through drinkin', possible more than the Russians.

I certainly would believe it. The last figures I heard was that Finland had the second highest incidence of alcoholism in the world per capita second to...you guessed it, Russia. It may have changed though.
I don't know if you've been to Finland, but when I was there (twice) I've never seen so many homeless people anywhere before or since. I wonder how they survive in winter. I dare say that the cold takes it's toll every year.
