Yeah, I agree on the travel aspect...I sometimes think we'd be better off in this country if we had more rail service and less SUV's the size of Sherman Tanks! Plus, how cool is it to just sit back and read a book while the countryside rolls by! Get those G-damned bluetooth Borg ear pieces out folk's ears and slow them up a piece to smell the freakin' roses! Too much technology going on, you know?
Thanks for the compliments guys.
Y'know we sometimes get looked at like we're freaks because we choose 'life' over money and career. Out on a limb here folks but I sometimes wonder if there are in fact less humans in the world than we think. The world seems to be populated by folks on auto pilot with a few real people seeded here and there. Over here, people seem obsessed with plasma screen TVs. To me, it's only TV. It's passive. You only need to look at it. Get up, work, eat, watch TV, sleep. That's not life. Hmmm...the roses smell good today.

I could not agree more. We live where we live because we love it here. We both could have stayed in New York and made a lot more money by running into the office everyday, at all hours, and stayed with the pack.

We found a balance and are very happy we did. Hate to admit it, but we even like the bears.

Re: old steam trains

I LOVE the bears mate. I would feel priviledged to have 'em even though they mess up the barbeque. Our cockatoos destroy our plants and eat the window frames. Still hate to see 'em gone.
