And mates...gorgeous places! I'll be on the same plane as Jim!
I agree 100%, nice one kreig! I'll put some shots together now.

And knowing me I'll probably over do it.
Over do, over do...please! Heck, I'm still trying to figure out how to get you to come out my way and convert my sad rock wall into the masterpieces you showed on another thread. You're a master!

Re: my home in the mountains

My area, the Pocono Mountains...

Mostly small towns or private communities, a few cities but spaced far between. And of course, resorts.

The Upper Delaware Valley and Delaware River

My favorite place on the river to kayak...

...and my favorite stretch to just drift.

Sunset on of our community lakes about a miles from the house

Speaking of which, part of the house and front yard

We have hundreds of waterfalls in the are, these are all with a few miles of the house

Re: my home in the mountains

And of course, my neighbors

Black bear running through the neighborhood...

Black Bear in the yard...

Black Bear on decks...

There are even Black Bear in the river

We also have raccoons...

White Tail deer in the millions and counting...

Fox...

Timber Rattlers...

American Bald Eagles...

And woodpeckers the size of large house cats

I've seen the photos. If you saw them, you'd have two hypotheses for his heart trouble:

1. Moving all that freakin' stone, and building all those damned walls!

2. After quarrying all that stone on his own land, he tallied up what it would have cost him at Home Depot.

Either one coulda killed 'im!!

I live in the hills on the horizon. This pic was taken from the fifth floor of the Mercy Hospital where my kids were born. It over looks the North-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The hills are the 'Danenong Ranges' or 'The Hills' to the locals.

This is my house, well, part of it anyway.

This is 'Puffing Billy'. A Melbourne institution since the 1950s. Before that it was a goods line. Here, it's crossing the horseshoe bridge over the Monbulk Creek. These are two of maybe ten locomotives...my nearly three year old son is absolutely obsessed...we watch this crossing at 10.35am at least once a week.

This is the national park behind my house.

God that was a looong time ago. Mate, the place is different every time I go down into town. I used to live there...now, when I go into Melbourne, I'm overwhelmed by the smell of car exhaust and other people's cooking...even in the suburbs. That was the 1980s.
