Re: my home in the mountains

Nice pics krieg... I love that part of the country despite my not having been to Dorrigo itself. Here's my home in the mountains (actually, just hills). My place is only 500 metres above sea level but this far south, we're high enough to get snow...even if it is only two days per year.

I live in the hills on the horizon. This pic was taken from the fifth floor of the Mercy Hospital where my kids were born. It over looks the North-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The hills are the 'Danenong Ranges' or 'The Hills' to the locals.

This is my house, well, part of it anyway.

This is 'Puffing Billy'. A Melbourne institution since the 1950s. Before that it was a goods line. Here, it's crossing the horseshoe bridge over the Monbulk Creek. These are two of maybe ten locomotives...my nearly three year old son is absolutely obsessed...we watch this crossing at 10.35am at least once a week.

This is the national park behind my house.

Re: my home in the mountains

Krieg comes up with a winner! A thread onplaces we live!! I love seeing different parts of the world, and I think this is a nice glimpse of part of who you are. I'll take some pics of my place when I'm feeling a little better.

And mates...gorgeous places! I'll be on the same plane as Jim!
